Caroline and Jesse were planning to have their wedding celebration on June 6, 2020. But this year had other plans for them! Taking each change in stride, these two pivoted their plans in a global pandemic and altered everything to keep their love and marriage at the center.
After a little ceremony in PA in their parent's backyard, we honored their union with a photo-stroll through their Cleveland neighborhood, making even more special the nooks and crannies of the streets they walk for respite during this weird season of life.
The light alone on this evening was proof that in difficult times, joy is ever-present. They danced in the sun, in the hidden corridors among the ivy-covered walls. They discovered beauty in spaces they been many times but hadn't seen before. They walked along, hand in hand, past their neighbors. They ended the ramble on their patio, studying their garden and having one last slow dance before we left them to soak in the twilight and twinkle lights.
Next year, they'll celebrate again in the larger company of their friends and families, and it will be magical, surely. But it won't be just them, just them and their new marriage. It'll be grand, festive, and energetic. It'll be different and beautiful still, and it will honor their marriage again, this time with a year's worth of tales to share!
Caroline + Jesse, it was an honor to walk with you. Can't wait for next year!
